Esther G. (Beery) Blocher, 89, died at 9:17 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, at ManorCare Health Services - South.

She was the wife of Paul D. Blocher, who died October 1, 1994.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Blocher's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at the Shrewsbury Assembly of God, 234 N. Main St., Shrewsbury, with Brother Merle Sweitzer officiating. Burial will be in the Shrewsbury Dunkard Brethren Church Cemetery.

Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Blocher was born July 24, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio.

She was the daughter of the late Ezra and Dorothy (Cassel) Beery. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a longtime member of the Shrewsbury Dunkard Brethren Church. She stayed active over the years working as the food sample lady at the former Festival Foods and later Weis Market in Red Lion, volunteering with the American Red Cross, and most recently, serving as a caregiver.

Mrs. Blocher is survived by her daughter, Joyce K. George and husband, Robert of Millersburg; her son, Dale E. Blocher and wife, Grace of Red Lion; three grandchildren, Jared Moore and wife, Tammy, Gloria Keeney and husband, Brian, and Andrew Blocher and wife, Christina; and 10 great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Emilee, Nickolas, Brandon, Jacob, and Owen Moore, Nicole and Katelyn Keeney, and Kaylin and Raylee Blocher, and was anticipating the arrival of her 11th great-grandchild in June. She is also survived by her goddaughter, Lauren Geesey DeWolf.

Mrs. Blocher was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1947, and her sister, Mary Stump. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrewsbury Dunkard Brethren Church, 216 N. Main St., Shrewsbury, PA 17361.
