William Dean "Bill" Baker, 74, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland of natural causes.

Bill was born April 17, 1938 the son of Ralph and Cora (Newton) Baker in Lingle.

He was reared and educated in Wheatland and graduated high school from Wheatland High School. After graduation Bill had a scholarship to play football and basketball at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After one year of college Bill decided to join the United States Army. After serving his country he moved back to Wheatland and worked for Safeway for thirty plus years as the dairy manager. Some of his hobbies included fishing, softball, and gardening.

Bill is survived by his children, Roger Baker of Wheatland, Scott (Naomi) Baker of Casper, Wyoming, Donitta Crusch of Wheatland, and Troy Baker of Sheridan, Wyoming; and thirteen grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
