Jennie Lenora Bishop, 88, died Sunday, December 7, 1997, at her residence.
Funeral Services were planned for 1 pm Wednesday at Galloway & Sons Chapel in George West with Pastor Ed Benick officiating. Burial was to follow in George West Cemetery. Her grandsons served as both active and honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Bishop was born July 11, 1909, on the Sinor Ranch in Live Oak County's La Para community to Laura Ann (Choate) and James Lafayette Sinor. She married William Cordie Bishop in Beeville on September 13, 1924. Mrs. Bishop was a Live Oak County homemaker and a member of the Oakville Baptist Church and Beeville Order of the Eastern Star.
She is preceded in death by her husband, who died July 27, 1986, and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include four daughters, Lela Trudy Stanley, Jo Ann Lang, Raye Smith and husband Buster and Jennie Lee Suggs and husband Garvin, all of George West; a son, John L Bishop and wife Nona of Hempstead; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
