Vinita Dailey Journal Tue Nov 10 1942 Benjamin H Abbott died monday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Muskogee Oklahoma. He is survived by his mother Sarah Abbott of Timber Hill, five brothers Homer of Bluejacket, Herman of Vinita,Jim of Bluejacket, Jes and Clarence of Bluejacket, two sisters Mrs Gertrude Mercer and Mrs Mamie Voyles both of Vinita. Funeral services will be held wed afternoon at 2:00 p.m.in Linginbuel chapel with Rev. Clarence Burgon of Neosho Missouri Officiating. Burial will be made in the Blue Jacket Cemetery under the Auspices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars with Linginbuel Funeral Home in Charge of Arrangements.
He was the oldest son of Samuel and Sarah and was born near Bear Creek Missouri on Jan 7 1889. His Occupation was a brick mason and cabinet builder. He spent time in the WWI in over seas duty. while in Europe he was one of many who was poisoned by gas which left him in poor health the remainder of his life.
