Pauline Watts Divens, of Statesville, passed away on March 15, 2013. Born on November 3, 1920, in Taylorsville, NC, Polly graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College. She taught in North Hampton, Ohio for 35 years.

Polly enjoyed many years of sewing, quilting, and traveling. During their 63 years of marriage, Pauline and her husband (deceased) traveled throughout the 50 states, making many trips to the Amish country in Ohio.

She was preceded in death by husband Dail, on July 3, 2011, her parents Thomas Wilson Watts & Verna Clanton Watts, a sister Flora, and three brothers Clifford, Flake, and Lynn. She is survived by brother Hugh, sisters-in-law Betty Watts and Norma Watts, nieces Vickie McGuirk (Gary), Ginny Jefferies (Richard), Julie Wright (Chris), Linda Kushmaul (Ron), Connie Guernsey (Eugene), Cindy Groff (Gary), Ann Abbot (John), Teresa Watts, nephews Terry Watts (Pricilla), Ned Robe (Judy), William Rogers and Ron Divens (Sandy), and special friends Robert and Shirley Byrd, Wayne and Naomi Strikeleather, and Loyce Campbell.

Visitation with friends will be held from 10 to 11:00AM, Monday, March 18, at New Salem United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11:00AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gordon Hospice House, 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625 or New Salem Methodist Church, 155 New Salem Road, Statesville, N.C. 28625.
