Rosa Young New-Roy, 90 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, April 14th, 2013 at the Somerset Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Rosa was born on July 7th, 1922 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Albert C. and Ollie Foster Young. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Rosa was survived by three sons, Jimmy New, Roger (and Lisa) New, and Norman (and Juanita) New; two daughters, Mathel McKee and Brenda (and Russell) Loveless; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Nina Fagel, Christine Ping, and Alphine Kidd; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert C. and Ollie Foster Young; her husband, Mike "Bud" New, whom she married on April 10th, 1941 in Somerset, Kentucky; four sons, Lonnie New, Ronald "Cotton" New, Russell New and Charles New; and four brothers, Elmer, Clayton, Bee and Dale Young.
Visitations were held on Tuesday, April 16th, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Randy Wiles officiating.
Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
