Charletta Knapp was daughter of Bessie and Harlie Himberger, one of 13 siblings. Married to Donald Warren Knapp, mother of two sons, Donald Knapp Jr. and David Preston Knapp. Was only 22 when died, died two days after giving birth to last son, David. Childbirth complications, cause of death was Acute Cardial decompensation due to post operative delivery shock. Her son Donald, first-born, was 3 at the time. Bessie, her mother brought the baby home and helped raise both brothers, she raised 22 kids total, 13 of her own, the rest grandkids. When David was 8, his grandfather Harlie, Bessie's husband, died in a freak train accident while working on the railroad. David never knew or remembered his father till he was about 9, his mothers relatives brainwashed him, trying to turn him against his father, they blamed his dad for the death of Charletta, which was nonsense. They probably felt he shouldn't have made her pregnant, which led to her death. Donald, the father, put young David in a boys home for 3 years, between the age of 14-17. For being rebellious, plus to get him away from his grandmothers influence, which only alienated him more. Both brothers were very close, but had different groups of friends, Donald Jr. less hostile. When David was 17, his brother died of spinal cancer. David went back to live with his grandma, dropped out of 12th grade, joined the Army and got his G.E.D. He married Bonnie Clayman from Chicago on Sept. 28th, 1971 and had three kids, Traci, David Jr., and Steve. David Jr. was born three weeks late and was born on the same day Dave's mother died, the 17th of December, 25 years after her sudden, unexpected death. Maybe a sign from Heaven. Dave remained semi-estranged from his dad and stepmother, Mildred. A strained relationship. His dad relocated to Mesa, Arizona where he died and is buried, complications from a heart attack, in 1993.
