A sudden heart attack caused the death on a deer hunt of Wilburne M. McCarty, 53, of Bastrop on Thursday near Lake Providence. He started out in seeming good health with several friends and after several hours hunt in East Carroll parish, he was missed and a se[a]rch was instituted. This resulted in finding him lying in a thicket and death had already occurred.

His funeral will be held in Catron-Gay funeral home in Delhi Saturday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Willie A. Dearman officiating. Interment will be held in the Delhi Masonic cemetery.

Mr. McCarty is survived by his wife [and] six sons, Walter McCarty, Kendall, La.; James McCarty, Tallulah; Willis McCarty, Fort Worth, Texas; Belford McCarty, Kendall, La.; Marvin McCarty, Clarks, and Billy McCarty, U. S. Marines; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Barnes, Quebec, La.; two brothers, E. E. and E. W. McCarty and one sister.
