Martha "Patsy" Patricia DeLozier was the youngest daughter of Edward Henry and Frances Sarah (Dyer) DeLozier. She was born sometime around 1832, reportedly in Tennessee about the time the Pioneer Trek was being organized to move a group of families westerly thru Tennessee and Kentucky to a destination near where Gerster, Missouri, would be established. There is some speculation that the DeLoziers may have stopped over for some time in Kentucky as they had both friends and family there.
Martha was given the nickname of "Aunt Patsy" early in life, possibly the namesake of her Aunt Rachel Martha "Patsy" Dyer Gravely. She married Walker Jones; their union brought five known children.
On 12 June 1900, she lost her life in a runaway horse and buggy accident near Union, Nebraska. The accident also took the life of her grandson Leland Larue.
Although we do not know the exact date the DeLozier family arrived in Missouri, it appears to be in the early to mid 1800's. Joseph Jackson Jones was the first child born to the Jones family in Kentucky in 1834 as the family was moving westward. Joseph Jackson Jones was likely the namesake of Lt. Governor of Missouri Joseph Jackson Gravely (1828-1872) Patsy's Aunt Martha "Patsy" Dyer Gravely's son (Find A Grave Memorial # 7268853).
