BALTIMORE: Floyd Franklin Baughman, age 93, of Baltimore, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, April 15, 2013.

Floyd was born November 16, 1919 in Outville, Ohio the son of Roy and Laura (Court) Baughman.

Floyd was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving in the 1st Cavalry, 8th Engineers Squadron, one of the first units entering Japan, spending most of his time in the Philippines in Leyte and Luzon. He was an Operations Officer and played in a five member country band helpingentertain the troops.

Floyd married Louella (Ruckman) Baughman in August of 1947, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage. His hobbies were country music and cars, retired mechanic of over 30 years from Harter's Garage in Thurston, Ohio.
In addition to his love for friends and family his passion included annual visits to the Fairfiel County Fair, attending every year since 1946 where it became a family tradion and reunion averaging 40-50 Baughman's traveling as far as Florida and California.

He is survived by his wife, Louella; sons, Mike (Joyce) King and Gene Baughman; daughters, Susan Baughman, Lou Ann (Baughman) and Mike Peters; grandchildren, Carla (Baughman) and Rob Armstrong, Michelle (King) and Matt Hooks, Amanda (King) and David Atrostic, Benjamin Adam (Nicole) Peters, Matthew (Nikki) Baughman, Sara (Eric) Peters, Doug Peters, Mike (CeCe) Peters and Tracy (Peters) Holtel; great-grandchildren, Blake (Nicole) Conley, Rhianna, Alex, Mac, Desmond, Samuel, Daxton, Brydon, Izabel, Landon, Sophia, Hayden, Zane, Cameron, Kayla, Andrea, Stephen, Brandin, Skye, Chase and his special Euchre partner, Brenda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Laura Baughman; sister, Katherine; brothers, Ralph, Donald, Lewis, Harry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends for calling hours from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the JOHNSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 207 South Main Stret, Baltimore, Ohio 43105.

Funeral service for Floyd will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Reverend Robert Tussing officiating. Burial will follow in Primitive Baptist Cemetery with Veterans Burial Rites performed by the Baltimore VFW 3761.
