FULTON – Laura Alice Moore, 78, of the Peppertown community, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at The Meadows in Fulton. She had resided the past 21/2 years at Avonlea Assisted Living Facility in Tupelo. She was born Jan. 24, 1935, to Mercer Clyde and Zelema Taylor Moore in Mantachie. She lived and attended school in Mantachie until completion of the eighth grade. She was a member of the Itawamba Agricultural High School Class of 1953. She married Cleon Moore on Sept. 2, 1950, and they made their home in the Peppertown community. She worked beside her husband in their business, Corner Shoe Store, until their retirement. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, at Senter Funeral Home in Fulton with Bro. David Langerfeld and Bro. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Keyes Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Jennie (Tommy) Lee of Tupelo, Nancy (John) Duncan of Tupelo, Laura (Chuck) Moffatt of Tupelo and Amy Moore (fiancé, Mark Brown) of Fulton; four granddaughters, Shannon (Jerome) Woodward of Slidell, La., Beth (Kevin) Presley of Lubbock, Texas, Shelby (Michael) Ritter of Hattiesburg and Juli (Bart) Palmer of Baldwyn; one grandson, Joe (Hollie) Moffatt of Tupelo; great-granddaughters, Taylor Presley of Lubbock, Texas, Madison Ritter of Hattiesburg, Karson Palmer of Baldwyn, Ivy Lauren Moffatt of Tupelo and Natalie Moffatt of Tupelo; and great-grandsons, Noah Presley of Lubbock, Texas, Connor Ritter of Hattiesburg and Tanner Palmer of Baldwyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleon Moore, and her parents, Mercer Clyde and Zelema Taylor Moore.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Senter Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends and guests in the foyer of Senter Funeral Home after the services.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Adult Ministry, Harrisburg Baptist Church, 4675 Cliff Gookin Blvd., Tupelo, MS 38801.
