Arline Tillery "Mema" Hughes, 91, of Douglasville, Ga., died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Douglasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Freelove Finley Tillery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Warren Hughes, and son, Robert Warren Hughes. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Johnnie Lee and Linda Darby Hughes of Douglasville, Ga.; daughter-in-law, Patricia Hughes Alessandro of Springfield, Mo.; grandsons, Kenneth David Hughes of Holiday, Fla., Warren Scott and Deidra Hughes of Carrollton, Ga., Robert John Hughes of Douglasville, Ga.; granddaughters, Cathy Hughes Spain of Holiday, Fla., Darlene and Dewayne Matthews of Springfield, Mo., Karyn Hughes Briggs of Douglasville, Ga., Melinda and Matthew Reese of Temple, Ga., Debra Priest of Douglasville, Ga., Kelly and Matthew Grant of Douglasville, Ga.; 14 great-grandchldren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mae Cook of Haines City, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Tillery of Smyrna, Ga.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Couch-Garner & Cole Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Charles Gibbs will officiate. Interment will be in Powder Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
