Henry C. Miller was born in Indiana Nov. 21, 1831, and died at the home of his daughter 407 North Pine Street Nov. 4. Age 92 years. On January 11, 1857 he was married to Angeline Burges, to which union 13 children were born. Four died in infancy. Nine are living, as follows: Joseph Miller of Salem, Ore.; Samuel Miller of Creston; David Miller of Muncie, Ind.; Casmond Miller of Salem, Ore.; Mary Lacocq of Creston; Isabel Laukeman of Spooner, Wis.; James Miller of Winterset; Laura Showers of Gault, Mo.; and Cora Kingery of Afton.

Mr. and Mrs. Miller located in this county March 12, 1877, on an 80 acre farm mear Thayer, where they made their home until the year 1899 when they quit farming and moved to Lorimor where they resided for two years. They moved to Afton in March ,1901.

On August 17, 1901, Angeline, wife of H.C. Miller, passed to the great beyond. Some 25 years ago the deceased united with the Evangeliecal church and has been faithful in his attendance at the church when his health would permit. Mr. Miller moved to Creston in the year 1904 which had since been his home. He leaves to mourn his loss besides his children, 45 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
