Jeff Maulsby, son of Samuel and Eliza Maulsby, was born in Putnam County, Missouri near Unionville, November 7, 1868; and departed this life May 28, 1948 at Neodesha, Kansas at his son's home. Age at death 80 years, 7 months, 20 days. He was united in marriage with Josie Francis Corder who passed to the beyond 36 years ago. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. Four preceded father in death. The living are Mrs. Clyde Davis of Unionville, Missouri; Clifford of Charles City, Iowa; Roy of Neodesha, Kansas. After the death of Josie, he was united in marriage in 1916 with Mrs. Elsie Melford [Medford], who survives him. To their marriage two children were born - Mrs. Dorothy Maulby Hood of Southwest City, Missouri, and Carl F. Maulsby of Rockford, Illinois. In death he is mourned by his second companion, five children, 20 grandchildren, 21 great- grandchildren, one brother, Grover Maulsby and family; one sister, Mrs. Florence Haines of Cincinnati, Iowa; three daughters-in-law – Mrs. Lillie Maulsby, Mrs. Etta Maulsby, and Mrs. Ruth Maulsby; two sons-in-law – Mr. Clyde Davis and Mr. Clarence Hood, many nephews and nieces, and friends. The body was brought from Neodesha, Kansas, Sunday morning by Mr. Fawsett, the undertaker at Neodesho, to the Husted Funeral Home where the funeral was held Sunday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. J. D. Noland. The body was laid to rest in Unionville Cemetery - Unionville, Putnam County, Missouri.
