Clara A. Tubbs, 97, Marion, died at 8 p.m. Monday, June 28, 1999, at Bradner Village Health Care Center, Marion.
She was born Dec. 10, 1901, in Peru, to Edwin B. and Olive Belle Shroll Cattin. She married Alonzo Earl Tubbs on Sept 29, 1924. He died in 1964.
She lived in Marion for 65 years and was a member of Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, Marion. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Erie High School, Peru, and worked as a daycare provider for more than 40 years.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Hensley and husband James, Carol McCarty and husband Roy, and Annis Nelson and husband Ollie, all of Marion; one step-daughter, Vera Dodge, Marion; 21 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 16 greatgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Phyllis Jean Kingery, a step-daughter, Ruth Ann Rehling, and a step-son, William Hugh Tubbs.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sunnycrest United Methodist Church, 1921 W. Bradford St., Marion, with the Rev. Lawrence Smith officiating. Burial will take place in Gardens of Memory, Marion.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Raven Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, Marion.
