Minnie Janette "Cricket" (Mackens) Byard was born on April 12, 1943 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of Frank "Noel" Mackens (1906–1982) and Estelle Methanie "Thenie" (Underwood) Mackens (1908–2002). [Her obituary has her middle name spelled Jenette.]
She was married to Larry Edward Byard (1944–1997), the son of Slayton Lawrence Byard (1902–1066) and Lera Bea (Karns) Byard (1904–1986).
Still in Montgomery County, Cricket was 74 years old and married when she died February 10, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Byard, by her children Tommy Byard and Tina Jackson and by her grandchildren Gregory Byard and Jessica Byard. Survivors included three married sons, five siblings, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services were held on February 14th at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Baggett's Chapel Cemetery.
