Samuel B. Forster, Jr., 69, passed away at his home on Beechwood Drive in Industry, PA, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, April 11, 2013.

He was born in Rienzi, MS, on August 6, 1943, a son of the late Verna Sorrell and Samuel B. Forster, Sr., and spent most of his life in this area. He was a 1962 graduate of Lincoln High School, where he was a member of the school's first undefeated basketball team that year.

Sam belonged to the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Midland, and served as the Head of Trustees for a number of years. He retired in 1982 from the former Crucible Steel Corporation.

Surviving him is his wife, Geneva, whom he married on October 25, 1963.

Also surviving are three children: Cherell Butler and her husband, Ernest, of Aiken, SC; Marcia Williams and her husband, Robert, of Memphis, TN; and Rodney Burrows of Dacula, GA, along with a god-daughter, Kimberly Catlin, of Pittsburgh.

Three sisters also survive: Essie Forster of Randallstown, MD; Mary Walker of Columbus, OH; and Barbara Walker, as well as eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Beaver Cemetery.
