Lloyd G. Rabe, Jr., 72, of N. Belle Vernon, peacefully went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 3, 2011 at his home. A son of the late Lloyd G. and Margaret Marsh Rabe, he was born in Carroll Twp. on November 16, 1938. Lloyd attended Calvary Bible Church in N. Charleroi and was a member of the former Sampson Union Church. A resident of N. Belle Vernon since 1967, he retired in 1997 from Consol Coal, River Division, where he was employed as a deckhand and landing man. He had previously been employed by J & L Steel, River Division, as a striker-engineer and deckhand. Also, together with his father, he operated the former Lloyd Rabe and Son Burial Vault service in Donora in the late 50's and early 60's. A loving husband, father and grandfather, the most important thing to him was his family. Survivors include his wife Bonny McCormick Rabe, with whom he would have celebrated 50 years on August 10; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David William and Teresa Rabe of Hanover, MD and Daniel G. Rabe of N. Belle Vernon; five grandchildren, Ashley Dawn Rabe, Lindsay Nicole Rabe, Daniel Jacob Rabe, Gavin M. Rabe, and Chris Shane Rabe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Hess. Friends will be received 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
