Rex Allen Achey, 48, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Sullivan, Indiana.
Rex was born September 12, 1964, in Denison, Iowa. He graduated from high school in Warsaw, Indiana, in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1986. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, football, playing video games on his laptop, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Rex is survived by his wife, Kimberly; daughters, Ashley, Christina, and Samantha; sons, Joseph and James; grandsons, Elijah and DeAngelo; mother, Marjean Mills; father, Richard Achey, both of Des Moines; brothers, Gene (Kellie) of New Franklin, MO, and Daryl (Sue) of Des Moines; grandmother, Viola Segebart of Denison, IA.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Jr. and Daniel; grandfathers, Earl Segebart and Verle Achey; grandmother, Pearl Achey; and his uncle, Ronald Achey.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Living Hope Community Church, 2620 E. Watrous Avenue in Des Moines.
