Sherry had been a cook and caterer in Wanatah and LaCrosse for decades which included the Wanatah schools, Silver Horseshoe Restaurant, American Legion and area churches. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school for 40 years, played piano and participated in the bell choir and was a member of American Legion Post #403 Ladies Auxilliary.
On August 31, 1968, Sherry married Ross W. Lehman who survives along with their daughters: Jennifer (Dale) McCormick of LaCrosse and Jill (Jeremy) Brown of Wanatah; her mother, Rosemary Grieger of LaCrosse; sisters: Gerry (Bill) Rosenbaum of LaCrosse and Roberta (Rod) Coffing of Monticello; grandchildren: Andrew, Allison, and Alden McCormick, Zachary and Mitchell Brown; and nieces: Sara Koselke and Kate Poort. She was preceded in death by her father; and sister-in-law, Carol Werner.
A visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Salem U.C.C., 302 S. Main St., Wanatah. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Salem Church with Rev. Carol Nordstrom officiating. Burial to follow at Salem Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Salem U.C.C. or the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
