Watson Funeral To Be Thursday
Last rites for John F. Watson, retired Louden Machinery company employe (sic), will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. D. O. Van Dyne officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Watson passed away about 10:05 a.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson county hospital where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in failing health the past year. His home is at 302 E. Lowe.
John F. Watson, 76, was born Sept. 9, 1886, in Jefferson county, the son of Columbus and Elizabeth McDowell Watson. He was married to Esther F. Simmons (sic) on Feb. 4, 1921.
He had lived all his life in Jefferson county, farming until 1939. At that time he moved to Fairfield and was employed at the Louden Machinery company for 17 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two brothers, Ray Watson, Weiser, Idaho; and Charles Watson, Mt. Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his first wife, one daughter, one brother and a sister.
