Martin was the husband of Irene Rosabelle Brady. They married Oct. 14, 1914 at the West End Presbyterian Church 165 West 105th Street at Amsterdam Avenue, New York NY.
Martin and Irene had one child named Martin Lloyd Raines born in Tampa FL at 309 South Brevard Avenue.
Martin had the following brothers and sisters:
Lenora "Linnie" Raines.
William Ollie Raines.
Maggie "Mazie" Belle Raines.
He was a long time resident of Omaha, Nebraska living at 4717 North 65th Street. Martin was a retired employee of the Warren Refining and Chemical Company.
Martin had apparantly grew weary of small town living and departed Wrightsville about 1904 before graduation from high school. The only time he returned was in death for a memorial service 55 years later on the way to Davenport Iowa for burial. The memorial service location was in a small lone brick building which still stands today just east of the town court house which was under construction at the time of his departure.
In his earlier years after having left Wrightsville, Martin was the manager of the Sanford House in Sanford, FL (corner of E. Commerical St & N. Palmetto) and the Hillsboro Hotel in Tampa, FL (corner of E. Madison St & N. Flordia Ave)
Martin passed away from a stroke while residing at 1741 Rainbow Drive in Clearwater, Florida. He had walked to a local grocery store to purchase some minor items for dinner preparation and by the time dinner was ready, he was unconcious in front of the TV never to awake again.
