George N. Sneath, sixty-six, 837 Fourth St., died at his home at 11:10 p.m. yesterday of a heart attack. He had been ill for approximately six years, but remained active until July, 1944. He was born in Manor Twp., the son of the late William and Mary Neff Sneath, and was a life long resident of Lancaster County. He was a painter, and a member of Bethany Evangelical Church.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Gerlach Sneath, and nine children: Clarence, Mabel, wife of C. N. Rutter; Pfc. Melvin G., with the Marines in China; Robert, at home; Maj. Mervin, U.S. Army; Sgt, George, recently discharged from the Army Air Corps; Everett G., formerly of the U.S. Navy, all of this city; Willis K., Mountville; and Mary Jeanne, wife of John J. Myers, Jr., Green Lane, Pa. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Harry K. Brenner, Mountville; two half-sisters: Mrs. Ellen Sneath, Lancaster, and Mrs. Sadie Christ, Mountville; six grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. (Lancaster New Era - Dec 26, 1945) .
