The funeral for Donald E. Ristau, 72, of 37923 145th St., Mansfield, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 624 N. Jay St., Aberdeen. The Rev. Terry Naasz and Rev. William Paepke will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Aberdeen. Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and for one hour on Monday prior to the service at the church.

Relatives and casketbearers are requested to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

He died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1996, at St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen.

Donald Edward Ristau was born May 20, 1924, to William F. and Ella A. (Dahme) Ristau at Aberdeen. He attended the Busy Bee Grade School at rural Mansfield. He then attended high school in Warner, graduating from Warner High School in 1942.

He married Lois Y. Welch on March 15, 1945, at the St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Aberdeen. They moved to the family farm in 1951, where they have since resided. He drove truck and hauled livestock for various trucking companies, and later bought his own truck and operated Ristau Trucking for several years.

He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of Aberdeen, and the American Quarter Horse Association. He was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Aberdeen, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Survivors include his wife of Mansfield; three daughters, Mrs. Joe (Linda) Torrence of Northville, Mrs. Linden (Lana) McDaniel of Elgin, Okla., and Mrs. Art (Debby) Robinson of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, Bryan Ristau of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Chad Ristau of Warner; one sister, Mrs. Harold (Phyllis) Jilek of Aberdeen; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary casketbearers will be Loring Anderson, Bill Fry, Dick Hurst, Bob Borchard and Eugene Wiedebush.

Casketbearers will be Linden McDaniel, Joe Torrence, Art Robinson, Lance Fuhrman, Phillip Shanley and Joe Harsche.

The organist will be Susan Ellingson. The congregation will also sing.

The ushers will be Norman Brick, Lloyd Brick, Craig Dahme and David Ristau.
