Ralph, the son of Bert Earl and Hattie Boyington Sutton, was born Dec. 18, 1914 at Blue Rapids, KS.
He was united in marriage to Delores Curry, Aug. 11, 1934 at Marysville, KS. To this union was born one son, Harold Eugene.
Ralph worked for Boeing and Solar Aircraft in San Diego, CA and Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, KS during World War II. After the war he and his family returned to Blue Rapids where he worked for Georgia Pacific for 34 yrs. until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1960. "Smick" always had a big smile and a practical joke for his fellow workers. His leisure hours were spent collecting and repairing antique clocks. He spent as much time as possible hunting and fishing. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Blue Rapids and was a member of the I.O.O.F and served as Noble Grand in 1952.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Myrtle and a granddaughter, Carla.
He leaves to mourn is his wife, Delores of the home, his son, Harold and wife Virginia; two granddaughters, Crystal and Carolyn all of Blue Rapids; a sister, Bernice Hulsey, Denver, CO; two brothers, Roy and Floyd Sutton, both of Blue Rapids.
Funeral services were March 17, 1980 in the Methodist Church in Blue Rapids with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids, KS.
