Edith M. Hurt, 88, of 950 Cross Ave., died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at The Waters at Clifty Falls.
She was born July 17, 1914, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Frank and Lillie May Earls Clarkson. She was a housewife.
Surviving are one stepson, Donald Hurt of Louisville, Ky.; four half sisters, Wilma Austin and Marcella Ralston, both of Madison, and Betty Shelley and Eleanor Owens, both of Hanover; one half brother, Jack Clarkson of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Hurt, in 1986; her stepfather, Leslie Handlon; two half sisters, Frances Thompson and Alma Conner; and two half brothers, Floyd and Tony Clarkson.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Springdale Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. The Vail-Holt Funeral Home Madison Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
