María was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Ocate, NM. María was a devoted Carmelita of the Asociedad de Nuestra Señora del Carmel. María was united in marriage to Josue Valdéz in August of 1930, they had two children, Nora and Rowland.
María is preceded in death by her parents, four brother and two sisters, husband, Josue Valdéz, daughter, Nora Alcon, son-in-law, Alfonso Alcon, son, Rowland Rudy Valdéz and grandsons, George Valdéz and Louie Espiñoza.
María is survived by granddaughters she raised, Shirley Salazar and her husband, Joe S., Joyce Alcon and Joe B., all of Los Hueros, NM, great-grandchildren she raised, Kristie Tapia and her husband, Tim and daughter, Isabella of Las Vegas, NM, Angelica Salazar of Santa Fé, NM, Joshua Salazar and her daughter, Addison of Los Hueros, NM, Judi Andolino and her husband. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father C. John Brasher as Celebrant. Interment will follow at San Juan Bautista Cemetery in Los Hueros, NM with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Randall Espiñoza, Alyssa Andolino, Charles Alcon, Sean Chávez, Charlotte Sánchez, Samantha Andolino, Santiago Jaramillo and Samuel Márquez. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be all her remaining great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
