Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late George and Ida Turner.
Mr. Turner was retired from Alice Manufacturing, Elljean Plant. He was a member of Griffin Baptist Church and was an US Army Veteran.
Surviving is his wife, Bobbie Hayes Turner of the home; one daughter, Cindy Adams and her husband, Johnny, of Pickens; three grandchildren, Chris, Amanda, and Ashley; one brother, Joe Turner of Easley; and three sisters, Frances Looper, Sara Breazeale and Carolyn Bolt all of Easley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Billy Turner, three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Griffin Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home.
