Carl Reginal Baker, a former resident of Rising Star, Eastland County, Texas, died Monday, 03 August 1987 at a Concho County hospital.
Mr. Baker was born in Mills County, Texas on Thursday, 29 May 1913 to Joseph Andrew Baker and Laura Josephine Welty Baker. He was the seventh of eight children born to this union.
He was united in marriage to Dessie Maurice Claborn on Sunday, 04 June 1933, in Rising Star, Eastland County, Texas. Mrs. Claborn preceded Carl in death on Thursday, 27 January 1972. They were married 38 years. To their union were born three children: daughter Genoise Marguriette Baker, son James Don Baker, and daughter Reta Jane Baker.
As a widower, he was united in marriage to Ima Jean Weir on Sunday, 11 November 1973. Mrs. Baker survives Carl. They were married 13 years.
Carl was a retired government trapper. He was Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Dessie, and infant daughter Genoise Marguriette Baker.
Survivors include his second wife of Eden, son James Don Baker of Christoval, daughter Reta Jane Baker Fowler of Abilene; three stepdaughters, Charlotte Clemmer of Colorado City, Kitty CANNON of Longview and Margaret ADAMS of Abilene; a brother, Earl BAKER of Sweetwater; a sister, Emily May BAILEY of San Angelo; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, 05 August 1987, at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Harrell officiating.
Burial will be at 5:00 PM Wednesday in the Rising Star Cemetery, directed by Day-Loveless Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Day-Loveless Funeral Home.
