McCOLLEM
EAST BEND, NC—Mrs. Sarah Tucker McCollem, 83, of East Bend, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. McCollem was born on December 27, 1929 in Forsyth County, NC to Roscoe Marion Tucker and Mattie Ethel Chappell Tucker.
She was a member of Olivet Moravian Church where she also participated in the Senior Friends Group. Sarah was involved in many other activities at the church. She loved the children of the church and enjoyed keeping the nursery. She was a Diener during the love feasts and considered an "office angel" for her efforts at the church. Sarah retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 28 years of service.
Mrs. McCollem was preceded in death by her husband, Raeford McCollem, her parents, one granddaughter, Amy Livengood; a sister, Barbara Bennett and one brother, Glenn Tucker.
Mrs. McCollem is survived by her daughter, Donna Livengood of East Bend, NC; two grandsons, Jeff Livengood (Carla) of East Bend, NC and Mark Livengood (Misty) of East Bend, NC; two great-grandsons, Austin Livengood and Mason Livengood; one brother, Paul Tucker of Lexington, NC and numerous other loving family members.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Olivet Moravian Church with Rev. Don Winters officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Olivet Moravian Church, 2205 Olivet Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
