Helen Louise Blizzard, 94, of Westminster, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at home.

Born Feb. 25, 1919, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late James B. McQuay and Alice Fowler McQuay. She was the wife of Joseph Gonso Blizzard, who died Nov. 13, 1982.

She was a 1937 graduate of Westminster High School and a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of First Church of God and taught Sunday school.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Carl J. and Jeane Blizzard, of Finksburg; daughter and son-in-law Jenny and Rick Kirk, of California, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 10 siblings; a daughter, Jeanne Widener; and a grandson, Randy Rakes.


A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ann Schlossnagle officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
