Mrs. Francis Newton Searcy, 29, of Fargo, died of influenza, Saturday March 31, 1929. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home of her parents, William Harrison & Mary Way Standiford, of near English.
F. Arthur Scott and Leonard Cummins were in charge. Burial was in the Stewart Cemetery, just out side English.
Mrs. Searcy, formerly Miss Lota Alice Standiford, she was born near English, June 20, 1898. She was married to Francis Newton Searcy in 1826.
A son, Everett Sherman Searcy was born a few days before her death.
Besides her parents, husband and child, she was survived by four sisters, Lola and Dorothy Standiford, of English; Mrs. Mae Howe, of Michigan; Mrs. Anna Lytle, of English; four brothers, Charlie, George, Willie and Fred Standiford, all of English. A brother, Frank, is dead.
