Nora was the daughter of John and Ann Amelia (Richardson) Smith. On Nov. 10, 1887 she married Jasper Newton Walton at the First Lutheran, Upper Sandusky, Wyandot, Ohio. The couple had nine children: Arthur Carlisle; Emery Ellsworth; Howard A.; Alice A.; Elsie G.; Ward W.; Gladys; Fonda; and Robert S.

UPPER SANDUSKY -- Mrs. Nora Belle Walton, 94, died at 3:10 a.m. Tuesday in Wyandot Memorial Hopsital where she was admitted Oct. 12 after an illness of several years. She had resided for four years with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garrigues on route 2, Nevada.

Born May 10, 1867 in Crane Twp., she was the daughter of John and Ann (Richardson) Smith. She married Nov. 10, 1887 in the First Lutheran Church parsonage here to Jasper Newton Walton, who died June 26, 1942.

Surviving are seven children, Arthur C., route 1, Upper Sandusky; Howard A., Mrs. Elsie Neate and Ward W., all of route four, Upper Sandusky; Gladys, wife of Ora McClain, route two, Nevada; Fonda, wife of Harry Garrigues, route two, Nevada; and Robert S., route one, Upper Sandusky; 34 grandchildren, 115 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Decased are a son, Emery E., a daughter, Mrs. Alice Neate; five grandchildren and one great-granchild; six sisters and one brother, Mrs. Cora A. Failor, Mrs. Arvilla Walton, Mrs. Mary E. Hottman, Miss rose Smith, Miss Pheobe Smith, Albert C. Smith and Mrs. Grace Bower. She was the last of her family.

Mrs. Walton spent her live time in this community. She was the oldest living member of the First Lutehran Church here, having joined the church at the age of 18.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday from the First Lutheran Church with the pastor, the Rev. Charles Stewart, officiating. Interment will be made in the Smithville Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Bringman and Co. Funeral Home Wednesday 3:30 to 5:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state from 1 p.m. Thrusday until the time of the services.
