Most of his early life was spent on a farm near Blue Rapids.
On July 29, 1903 he was married to Ella Horner in Marysville, KS. To this union was born one daughter, Pearl.
On Apr. 9, 1919, Ella passed away. Ed and his daughter continued to live on the farm until Pearl reached high school age. They then moved to Blue Rapids and Ed went to work in the mines.
In March 1924 Ed was married to Mrs. Effie Odie. To this union one son, Donald Edward, was born.
Ed leaves to mourn his passing, one daughter, Pearl Hanna of Fresno, CA and one son, Donald Edward, of Topenish, WA; five sisters, Mrs. C.E. Ham of Los Angeles, CA; Mrs. M. E. Wright of Los Angeles, CA.; Mrs. L. A. Borinstine of Paramount, CA.; Mrs. Oscar Wuester of Santee, CA.; Mrs. George Benton of Blaine, KS.; and two brothers, William Sutton of Boise, ID and Bert Sutton of Blue Rapids, KS; also 16 nieces and nephews and a host of Friends.
Funeral services were held at the Hill Funeral Home, Blue Rapids with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, rural Blue Rapids, KS.
