"Mac" was the son of William Eldon McCutchen Jr. and Susanna Thornton McCutchen, the husband of Elizabeth Berkshire and the father of John, Julia A., Isabelle, Emily, Ellen, William and Sarah. The name on his stone is spelled "McCutchan", although his wife's stone is spelled "McCutchon" and his descendants spell it "McCutcheon".
