This Levi Thomas Methvin, may have been the grandson of Levi T. Methvin Sr. and Anna Massengale-Methvin. Making him the son of James Shelton Methvin, (the first child of Levi Methvin Sr.). There was a son born to Levi Sr. And his second wife, Anna, who would be the younger brother of Elizabeth, and probably born in Madison Co., AL. That Levi (born close to the time James S., had his son Levi) would the be a half brother of James S., Sarah (Kirk), Mary Polly (Kirk), Anna (Lamb), Lavina, Thomas, Susanna, and Rhoda Methvin. He was the step brother of Elijah W., Warren Y., Wright, and Matthew Massengale., Honey Grove, TX. Some family members spelled the last name Methven. May this Levi Jr., rest in peace.

Some sources have a spelling of Massengil, and Massengill. Just how Levi T. Methvin became to be called "Jr." , is unknown because of his father being James Shelton Methvin. Perhaps for convenience of the family's close proximity to his uncle Levi. It is reported that Js. S.'s brother Levi died in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, about 1860's.
