Obituary - Olene Stohl Whitaker, 76, passed away Thursday, July 15, 1993 at his home in Kaysville.
He was born December 5, 1916 in Farmington, Utah to Edmond and Elizabeth Ann Wood Whitaker. He married Wilma Leona Allan August 19, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away January 8, 1969.

He lived his entire life in the Kaysville-Farmington area. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from the Davis School District as a bus driver. He was one of the original 12 members of the Davis County Mounted Sheriff's Posse.

He was a High Priest in the Kaysville 11th LDS Ward. He had spent many years working in the Scouting program and also served in the Sunday School and Young Men's presidencies. He loved serving as a home teacher and spent many hours doing service for those in need. He was devoted to his family.

Surviving are six daughters and three sons, Judy Holmes, Kaysville; Norman Whitaker (Ann), Kaysville; Sandy Blamires (George), Layton; Jean Gowans (Phil), West Valley; Kent Whitaker (Jan), Kaysville; Marie Stevenson (Richard), Layton; Cathy Turnbow (LaVon), Layton; David Whitaker (Carla), Kaysville; Carri Green (Jon), Layton; 38 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Beth Tolman, Bountiful; Lauana Foote, Spanish Fork; Blanche Thorup, Bountiful; Nedra Cardall, North Salt Lake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 19, 1993, 11 a.m., at the Kaysville South LDS Stake Center, 900 South Main, Kaysville. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and Monday at the stake center from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Farmington City Cemetery.
