Mrs. J. J. DeBusk Funeral Monday
Mrs. Jennie Beatrice DeBusk, who homesteaded west of Floyd in 1905 and lived in Roosevelt until 1940, died April 10 near Eugene, Oregon. The body is being shipped back to Portales for services Monday at 10:00 in Wheeler Mortuary. Burial will be in the Floyd cemetery with Rev. Ernest Wheeler in charge.
Mrs. DeBusk was born June 26, 1872 in Grand River, Iowa, and married Wesley R. Armitage in 1890 in Iowa. He died in 1917. In 1926 she married J. J. DeBusk. He died in 1959.
Mrs. De Busk left Roosevelt Co to live in Arkansas, and for the last three years she has lived in Oregon. She is survived by four children, Mrs. L. N. Dorrell of Floydada, Albert Armitage of Reno, Nevada, Lavern Armitage of Cottage Grove, Oregon, and Ross Armitage of Roseburg, Oregon. Seventeen grandchildren and 21 ggrandchildren survive. Two daughters and two sons preceded her in death.
