Albert Baszkowski was the son of John Baszkowski and Charlotte Ritz. He was born in Borek (formerly Borreck or Waldeck, West Prussia) -- a village no longer on the map, once found east of Osiek and northwest of Dargolewo. He was baptized at Strzepcz Catholic parish.

Albert married first wife Francisca Ptach on 14 November 1881 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Chicago. They had three children, August, Theodor, and Mary Abraham. After Francisca's death, he married second wife Magdalena Kriesel on 21 February 1887 at St. Josaphat Church. Albert and Magdalena had one son, John. After Magdalena's death, Albert married third wife Augusta Krukowska on 29 September 1890 at St. Josaphat's. They had three sons, Frank, Paul, and Joseph.
