Funeral services for George Thomas Myles, 82, 215 Maple Ave., Fayetteville, retired store manager and purchasing agent, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Fayetteville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. J. Edwin Stanfield and the rev. J. A. Crozier in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park following graveside rites by the Longdale Masonic Lodge.
Myles, who suffered a heart condition for several years died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday in his home.
Born in Fayette County Feb. 19, 1879, he was a son of the late Turpin and Susan Kirkpatrick Myles. Before his retirement several years ago, he was employed by the Montcoal Coal Co., at its Landisburg, Clifftop and Sewell Stores.
He was a member of the Clifftop Prebyterian Church and the Winona Longdale Masonic Lodge and was the recent recipient of a 50-year Masonic pin.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie Anderson Myles; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Morford, Santa Fe., N. M.; a son, George A. Myles, Elkins; two brothers, Dr. W. E. Myles, White Sulphur Springs and T. A. Myles, a Fayetteville attorney; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Burns, Crawley; and three grandchildren.
The body os at the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville and will be placed in the church one hour before the service. (RNS)
