McDonald, Sylvia Jean Bankston

A retired employee from the Hammond Developmental Center in Hammond, she was called to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, Sept. 2, 2006, at Ochsner Hospital, Baton Rouge. She was 73, a resident of Livingston and a native of Holden. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, on Monday, Sept. 4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday. Service in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Sasser, the Rev. Tim Norris and the Rev. Richard Wallace. Burial in Old Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston.
She was the loving wife of 51 years to Pearly Junior McDonald, and a loving mother and mother-in-law to daughter Mona McDonald, and sons and their spouses, Larry and Nancy Stewart, Jeff and Karen McDonald, and Robert "Bobby" Stewart, all of Livingston. She is also survived by a sister, Shirley Bankston Monk, Clarksville, Tenn.; and brother, Terry Eugene Bankston, Livingston. She was the cherished "granny" of Elizabeth Hall, April Lynn Ballard, Melissa Stewart Cade, Krystal Stewart, B.J. Stewart, Jessica McDonald, Larry Stewart Jr., Troy McDonald and Devin McDonald. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Cody Hall, Ashton Stewart, Kayla Stewart and Collin Cade; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshal and Evy Lott Bankston; brother, Cleve Bankston; and sister, Gwendolyn B. Thomas. Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Joey Thomas, B.J. Stewart and Larry Stewart Jr., Troy McDonald, Devin McDonald and Cody Hall. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Bankston, J.D. Thomas and Marvin Duffy. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Livingston. She was known for her generous spirit and hard work with the March
of Dimes and was an honorary member of the Livingston Parish Fair Association. She was well loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
