Minnie Carol Calhoun, 91, of Leesburg, VA, went home to be with the Lord Dec. 4, 2011. Mrs. Calhoun was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Carroll County, VA, to the late John Henry and Printa Okie Quesenberry.
Her husband, Hencil Mervin Calhoun, two sons: Carl and Mervin Frances Calhoun, and nine siblings predeceased her.
One of 11 children, she moved to Leesburg during the 1930s. Mrs. Calhoun provided domestic services to many families in Leesburg including the family of Gen. George C. Marshall at Dodona Manor. She was a very loving and kind woman that enjoyed providing assistance to many individuals and families over the years. Mrs. Calhoun enjoyed being active and social even in her final days.
Mrs. Calhoun is survived by her son: Bruce Franklin Calhoun (wife Linda) of Fairfield, PA; sister: Helen Edwards; two grandchildren: Mervin Calhoun and Patricia Staples (husband Mac); seven great children; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg, from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. with Rev. Cary Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
