It pleased God over life and death, to take our dear father and Grandfather George B. Dannen on 26 September from this life. The deceased was born on 5th May in Bunde, Ostfriesland. In the year 1866 he came to America and married in the year 1870 in Freeport, Illinois, to Hindertje geb. Smidt. This marriage was blessed with 10 children, from whom 2 died at a tender age preceding their parents in death. The eight children surviving are: Berend of Lennox, S. Dak., Jacob of Brownsville, Oregon, Tjark of Shedd, Oregon, Rolf, Francis, Heike, George and Clara, each of Shedd, Oregon, there are 30 grandchildren left to mourn. On 28 September the funeral was held in the Methodist church in Shedd, Oregon and will be buried. Preacher F. Stanley of Binfle lectured in the morning and talked from Genesis 48, 21.
