EZRA W. WRIGHT was married to EMMELINE V. CUTTRELL on 28 December 1847 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey and they became the parents of seven children. EMMELINE {CUTTRELL] WRIGHT died on 9 September 1873 in Colliersville, Otsego County, New York and on 15 September 1876, EZRA W. WRIGHT was married to HARRIETT MARTIN.
In 1883, EZRA WRIGHT's son ALFRED M. WRIGHT left central New York and "sought better health" in the Dakota Territory where he remained for three years before moving to Kittitas County, Washington. EZRA W. WRIGHT may have joined him at this time, but we do know that EZRA W. WRIGHT and his sons and ALFRED WRIGHT's brothers, EZRA HAROLD WRIGHT, ALFRED M. WRIGHT and WILLIAM WRIGHT moved on to Kittitas County, Washington around 1886 where they went into the lumber business. According to the source: EARLY HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF MILFORD AND OTHER PARTS OF OTSEGO COUNTY FROM 1793 to 1903, " HARRIETT MARTIN, wife of EZRA W. WRIGHT, born 24 September 1828, went to Washington State and died there. EZRA W. WRIGHT died in Ellensburg, Kittitas County, Washington on 26 May 1890 and was buried in the IOOF Cemetery there.
The biography of his son, ALFRED M. WRIGHT, located on page 820 in the Central Washington section of AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY of KLICKITAT, YAKIMA & KITTITAS COUNTIES states that his father, "EZRA W. WRIGHT, operated a saw mill on Staten Island and one in central New York. Of French descent, he was born in Herkimer County, New York in 1827. Being in ill health, he came west and settled in Kittitas County, Washington in the vain hope of improvement, dying here in 1891. Two brothers of EZRA W. WRIGHT gave up their lives in the cause of the Civil War."
