JACK DEAN SMITH, 67, of Independence, Missouri, passed on May 7, 1996, at his home. Mr Smith was born August 22, 1928, in Carroll, Iowa. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of America Legion Post 499, BMW Motorcycles of America for 23 year, and Big Creek & Southern R.R. He was preceded in death of both parents Andrew and Adah (Carswell) Smith, and daughter, Sarah Ellen Smith, in 1963, Survivors includes his first wife, Sarah Smith of Raymore, Missouri, and mother of their 4 children, Steven (Kathy) Smith, of Lathrop, Mo; Sharon Smith (Richard) Orton, of Independence, MO; Kenneth (Karen) Smith, of Belton, MO; five grandsons, five granddaughters, 1 g.granddaughter, Destiny Orton.
