GEORGE W. NICHOLS, 70, DIES; FUNERAL SERVICES WEDNESDAY

Funeral services for George W. Nichols, 70, of Cushing will be held Wednesday afternoon, July 6, at 2:30 o'clock at McKnight's Seminary with interment in the cemetery there.

Officiating will be the Rev. A. J. Nichols of Cushing, and the Rev. Ed Roark, the Rev. W. S. Smith, and the Rev. George Wade.

Mr. Nichols died Monday morning, July 4, at 3 o'clock at his home. He had been ill for three years. Born March 12, 1890, in Cushing, Mr. Nichols had lived his entire life in that community. He was the son of Lawrence Joshua and Mary Durrett Nichols. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a retired farmer. Mr. Nichols was married Oct. 22, 1916, at Ponta.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Elsie Nichols of Cushing; four sons, Herbert L. and Lester Ray Nichols of Cushing and Hall and Haward Nichols of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. E. S. Blackburn of Houston and Mrs. M. H. Johnston of Folsom, Calif.; one brother N. J. Nichols of Cushing; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Tennison of Nacogdoches, Mrs. Ola Bass of Terrell, and Mrs. Emily Mason of Vidor; and twenty-one grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Odell Nichhols, Bobby Jo Nichols, Jack Whitaker, Arlie Ray Smelley, Clinton Phillips, Alton McKnight, Lester Fuller and Olan Wade.

Services were under the direction of Whitney-Holsomback Funeral Home in Cushing.
