In 1959 he founded Andrews Company, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and was a Navy Storekeeper 1st Class during World War II.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Phyllis; and a sister, Mrs. Fay McCall. Survivors included his widow, Lorraine; three sons, James and Robert Andrews and Larry Lutton; and three daughters, Mary Porras, Nancy Andrews, and Jeanette Tarrats.
