Harvey Jones, 75, of 409 N. Commercial St., Benton, a retired coal miner and oil field worker, died at his home at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday after an illness of the past two years.
A county resident the past 45 years, he leaves his wife, the former Paula Ligon, six sons, Kenneth of Joliet, Paul of Downey Calif., Jim of La Mirada, Calif., Howard of Marion, Tom of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Bill of East St. Louis; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Sullivan of Benton and Mrs. Helen Willmore of West Frankfort, 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister Mrs. Myrtle Parker in Arkansas and a brother, Marvin Jones in California. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hobbs-Johnson
Funeral Home in Benton. Interment will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows cemetery.
