He was a member and a great worker at First Christian Church of Fredericksburg. He retired from the FMC plant after 28 years of service. He was a craftsman who refinished and restored antique furniture.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Abbie H. Flippo; two first cousins; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel, with Pastor Gary Staddan officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David L. Henderson Jr., Greg Henderson, Orville Thompson, Gary Williams, Richard Beasley, and Cutler Beasley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to First Christian Church, 1501 Washington Ave., Fredericksburg, Va. 22401; or to Spotsylvania Rescue Squad, Box 101, Spotsylvania, Va. 22553.
