Sister Mary Cosmas entered the Benedictine community in 1948, and was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica College. She taught many years in schools of the Kansas City area: Guardian Angels in Kansas City, Mo., St. Benedict's, St. Anthony's, Christ the King in Kansas City, Ks., and Holy Trinity in Lenexa, as well as other schools in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Colorado. Later she served her sisters at the Mount as sacristan and as an assistant in the monastery library.
She was born Nina Gertrude O'Neill, the youngest of the six children of John and Mary Kirkpatrick O'Neill of Des Moines, Iowa, and all predeceased her. She is survived by her nieces Mrs. Janet Fudala, Silverdale, Wash., and Alice O'Neill, El Dorado Hills, Calif., and by a nephew, Larry O'Neill, Mesa, Ariz.
